Terms of Use
Last updated:
These terms apply to the SubExport website and subtitle extraction inquiries. A written quote or project agreement controls the final scope of paid work.
Website and service model
SubExport is a managed service inquiry and delivery website, not an online video-processing, upload, payment, or self-service software platform. Submitting a form does not create a binding project or guarantee availability.
A project begins only after scope, extraction route, delivery format, timeline, price, material handoff, and other material terms are confirmed in writing.
Service scope
Subtitles may be extracted from visible hard subtitles in the video image or generated from speech when usable hard subtitles are not available. Standard delivery is one same-named, editable, timecoded SRT per source video. VTT or another format may be delivered when confirmed before work begins.
Automated extraction and basic cleanup are standard. Line-by-line human review, specialized formatting, or other additional work is included only when separately confirmed.
Customer materials and responsibilities
You must have the rights and permissions needed to provide and process videos, audio, subtitle files, scripts, links, names, trademarks, and other project materials.
You are responsible for accurate instructions, lawful content, timely feedback, and final review before publishing or distributing delivered materials. Material handoff occurs only through the method confirmed after scope review; do not place source media or links in the Contact form.
Quotes, timelines, and changes
Website descriptions are general and do not establish a fixed price or delivery date. Quotes depend on video count, total duration, subtitle condition, audio language, output format, review needs, and scheduling.
Changes to source files, batch size, extraction route, output format, or review requirements may require a revised quote and timeline.
Quality boundaries
Accuracy depends on source resolution, subtitle size, background contrast, occlusion, audio clarity, accents, and noise. We do not promise 100% error-free output, publication readiness, audience performance, or platform approval.
Human review can reduce errors but must be scoped separately. Specialized legal, medical, publishing, or regulated content may require additional review and is not accepted automatically.
Excluded services
Translation, hard subtitle removal, dubbing, and complete video localization are outside the standard SubExport scope unless separately agreed in writing.
Intellectual property
You retain rights in materials you provide. Rights in final deliverables are governed by the applicable quote or agreement after payment of agreed fees. SubExport retains rights in pre-existing tools, templates, workflows, and general know-how that do not contain confidential project content.
Availability and liability
The website may be updated, interrupted, or unavailable. To the extent permitted by law, it is provided without warranties beyond those expressly stated in a written project agreement. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Updates to these terms
We may update these terms as the website or service changes. The date above shows the latest version. Project-specific written terms take priority if they conflict with this page.
